1 Cutting board
1 Serving plate
1 Bowl (for serving)
- 4 medium russet potatoes About 8 ounces each.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- optional toppings butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon bits
Wash and scrub the russet potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a towel.
Using a fork, pierce each potato 5-6 times around the surface to allow steam to escape while cooking.
Place the potatoes in a bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over them, then sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Rub the potatoes to evenly coat them with the oil and seasonings.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Arrange the potatoes in the air fryer basket, making sure they do not touch. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Cook the potatoes in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes or until tender, flipping them halfway through. Check doneness by inserting a fork; it should glide in easily.
Once cooked, remove the potatoes from the air fryer. Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Cut a slit in the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork. Add your desired toppings and serve warm.
Cooking times may vary based on the size of the potatoes and the specific model of your air fryer.
You can experiment with different seasonings or add garlic powder or paprika to elevate the flavor.
For extra crispiness, you can increase the cooking time by 5 minutes, but monitor closely to avoid burning.
