1 large pot
1 colander
1 large skillet
1 measuring cups
1 measuring spoons
1 cutting board
- 12 ounces angel hair pasta
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- to taste salt
- to taste freshly ground black pepper
- grated Parmesan cheese, for serving optional
- lemon wedges, for serving optional
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-4 minutes until al dente. Drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and golden (avoid burning).
Add the cooked angel hair pasta to the skillet and toss gently to coat the pasta with the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, add a little more olive oil.
Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss again to combine thoroughly.
Serve the pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired and lemon wedges on the side for a squeeze of freshness.
You can customize this recipe by adding sautéed vegetables (like spinach or cherry tomatoes) or cooked shrimp or chicken for added protein.
For a lighter option, consider using whole wheat angel hair pasta.
