Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large baking dish, combine the cherry tomatoes, olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the tomatoes evenly.
Place the block of feta cheese in the center of the mixture, ensuring it is surrounded by the tomatoes.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the tomatoes are bursting and the feta is soft and slightly golden.
While the feta and tomatoes are baking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Once the feta and tomatoes are out of the oven, remove the baking dish and use a fork to mash the feta and tomatoes together to create a creamy sauce.
Add the cooked pasta to the baking dish and toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves if desired.
