  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 large skillet or wok
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 bowl for marinating chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper (any color) sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper Adjust according to spice preference.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • salt to taste
  • freshly chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well until the chicken is evenly coated. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes while preparing the other ingredients.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken in a single layer. Cook for about 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  • Add the minced garlic and black pepper to the skillet, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, and add the oyster sauce and sesame oil. Stir well to combine all the ingredients, ensuring the chicken and vegetables are coated in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  • Season with salt to taste, if needed. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
