Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz Burrata cheese 2 balls
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes Preferably heirloom.
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze Optional.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Start by washing the tomatoes and basil leaves. Pat the basil dry with a paper towel.
  • Slice the tomatoes into thick rounds or wedges based on your preference. Arrange them on a serving platter.
  • Carefully tear open the burrata cheese and place the contents in the center of the sliced tomatoes. Alternatively, you can place the whole balls of burrata.
  • Scatter the fresh basil leaves around the tomatoes and burrata.
  • Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil over the salad and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • If desired, drizzle a balsamic glaze for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Serve immediately while the burrata is fresh and creamy.

Notes

For variety, you can add your favorite nuts or a sprinkle of nuts for an added crunch.
This salad goes wonderfully with crusty bread or as a side to grilled meats.
For a more visually appealing dish, use a variety of colored tomatoes.
