Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning Feel free to adjust the amount to suit your spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns Toast before serving.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • sliced pickles Optional for serving.

Instructions
 

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced green bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  • Add the ground chicken to the skillet. Cook while breaking it apart with a spatula until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • While the mixture is simmering, toast the hamburger buns in a toaster or on a separate pan until golden brown.
  • Once the chicken mixture is done, spoon it generously onto the toasted buns. Add sliced pickles if desired.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to suit your spice preference.
You can also add toppings like shredded lettuce or cheese for extra flavor.
These Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes make great leftovers and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
