Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound frozen hash browns
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • to garnish fresh parsley Optional.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, eggs, cheddar cheese, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Spread the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Layer the frozen hash browns on top of the meat mixture. Spread them out evenly.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the hash browns.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to prevent the cheese from burning and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  • Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
Feel free to add your favorite vegetables, like mushrooms or zucchini, to the meat mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
