This refreshing cherry vanilla iced latte combines sweet cherry syrup, creamy milk, and bold coffee over ice for the ultimate homemade café-style drink.
In a small saucepan, mix your half cup pitted cherries with sugar, vanilla extract, and water. This is where flavor starts to blossom.
Simmer this mixture on medium heat for about 10 to 15 minutes. You’ll notice the cherries breaking down and the liquid thickening up. Stir occasionally so it don’t stick.
After the syrup thickens, strain it through a fine mesh strainer into a container. Let that cool at room temp.
Fill your serving glass with ice cubes.
Pour the cooled cherry syrup in first, then add the milk. Pour in the espresso or coffee last.
Give everything a good stir and you’re ready to serve.
Notes
You can make the syrup ahead and store it in the fridge for up to a week.
