Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
Add mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
In a second bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to wet and mix gently until just combined.
Fold in ¾ cup chocolate chips.
Pour batter into loaf pan and top with remaining ¼ cup chocolate chips.
Bake 55-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes in pan, then move to wire rack.
Notes
Cool completely before wrapping for storage. Store up to 2 days room temp, 5 days refrigerated, or freeze up to 3 months.
