  • 1 sheet Puff pastry thawed
  • 1 cup Apples peeled and diced
  • ½ cup Dried cranberries
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • ¼ cup Powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1 teaspoon Milk or cream for glaze

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine apples, cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
  • Roll out puff pastry on floured surface to slightly thin it.
  • Spoon filling down center third of pastry evenly.
  • Cut outer thirds diagonally and fold strips over the filling in a braid.
  • Brush the top with beaten egg.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and puffed.
  • Let kringle cool slightly before glazing.
  • Mix powdered sugar with milk or cream, then drizzle over the kringle and serve.

Notes

Keep pastry cold until ready. Chop apples ahead & store with lemon juice to save prep time. Glaze after cooling for best texture and appearance.
