- 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1.5 lbs total.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs Oregano, basil, thyme mix.
- to taste none salt
- to taste none black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- for garnish none fresh parsley, chopped
Start by patting the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season them with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
Carefully pour in the chicken broth and stir, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Lower the heat to low and add the heavy cream, Italian herbs, and Parmesan cheese. Stir to combine and let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Return the chicken to the skillet and coat it with the creamy garlic sauce. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken with garlic and herbs for a few hours before cooking.
This recipe can be served over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove.
