Begin by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken to the skillet.
Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until it is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside on a plate.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Bring it to a gentle simmer.
Stir in the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and dried basil. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it with the creamy sauce. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top and allow it to melt into the sauce.
Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
