  • 1 cup Butter room temperature
  • 1 ¼ cups Light brown sugar
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 3 cups All purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ cups Milk chocolate chips plus extra for topping

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
  • Slowly add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  • Use ¼ cup measure to scoop dough balls onto parchment-lined sheets.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and center is soft.
  • Press extra chocolate chips on top while cookies are still warm.
  • Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.

Notes

Store cookies in airtight container for up to a week. Add a slice of bread to help retain softness. Freeze before baking to batch ahead.
