Preheat oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Cream butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
Slowly add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Mix until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Use ¼ cup measure to scoop dough balls onto parchment-lined sheets.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and center is soft.
Press extra chocolate chips on top while cookies are still warm.
Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
Store cookies in airtight container for up to a week. Add a slice of bread to help retain softness. Freeze before baking to batch ahead.
