Ready your chocolate cake mix as the box says and bake it in a 9x13 inch pan. Let it cool down all the way before the next step.
Take a wooden spoon handle and poke holes all across the cake’s surface. This is important to get that fudge into all the nooks.
Warm up the hot fudge slightly so it’s easier to pour and spread it over the cake, making sure it seeps into those holes you just made. Then set it aside to cool off.
Mix both chocolate pudding packets with 1 ¾ cups milk in a bowl. Whisk it well until it thickens up like it’s ready to hug the cake.
Spread that creamy pudding layer evenly on top of your chocolate fudge coated cake.
Now dollop the thawed Cool Whip all over and smooth it out nice and even across the pudding.
Sprinkle the crushed Oreos generously on top to add that delightful dirt look and extra crunch.
Pop the whole thing into the fridge for at least an hour. This lets all the flavors chill together and firm up before you dig in.
