Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Rice Chex cereal You can substitute with other Chex varieties if desired.
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Easter-themed M&M's or chocolate eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, measure out the Rice Chex cereal and set aside.
  • In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips and creamy peanut butter. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, stir, then heat for an additional 15-30 seconds until melted and smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour the melted chocolate-peanut butter mixture over the Rice Chex cereal. Gently fold the cereal until evenly coated with the mixture.
  • Add the powdered sugar to the coated cereal. Seal the mixture in a large zippered plastic bag, and shake gently until all pieces are coated evenly.
  • Spread the mixture out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to cool and set.
  • Once set, mix in the Easter-themed M&M's or chocolate eggs. Serve in bowls or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.

Notes

You can substitute the Rice Chex cereal with other Chex varieties if desired.
Feel free to add other mix-ins such as nuts or additional candies to customize your Muddy Buddies.
These treats can be made ahead of time and stored for up to a week in an airtight container.
