  • 2 pounds round steak cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons cold water
  • 1 broccoli crown cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds optional

  • In a large bowl, mix together beef broth, soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Stir well.
  • Place steak pieces in the crock pot and pour the sauce over the meat, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Cover the pot and cook on low for 4-5 hours until beef is tender.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water until smooth.
  • Stir the cornstarch mixture into the crock pot to thicken the sauce.
  • Add broccoli to the pot, stir gently, and cover. Turn heat to high and cook for 30 more minutes.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat with a splash of broth as needed.
