Equipment

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 2 pounds round steak cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame oil

  • 1 Broccoli crown cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds optional

Instructions

Instructions

  • Start by combining beef broth, soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, and sesame oil in your slow cooker. Stir it all up so those flavors get cozy together.
  • Add your bite-sized round steak pieces and give it a good stir so they're coated evenly.
  • Cover and set the slow cooker on low for about 5 hours. You wanna watch for that tender pull in the beef.
  • While it cooks, you can get your broccoli cleaned and cut so it's ready when you need it.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the cornstarch and cold water until smooth.
  • About 30 minutes before you wanna eat, stir the cornstarch mixture right into the slow cooker.
  • Then pop in the broccoli, cover, and crank the slow cooker to high. This cooks the broccoli nice and tender while thickening your sauce.
  • After those 30 minutes, do a slow release on the cooker. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if you want and it's ready for serving.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Reheat using a low setting to maintain tenderness and prevent broccoli from getting mushy.
