  • 0.25 cup Butter softened
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced or pressed
  • 0.5 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 4 slices Bread thick cut preferred
  • 3 cups Grated cheese Cheddar, Mozzarella, and Gruyere mix

  • Place 0.25 cup of softened butter in a bowl. Add minced garlic and dried oregano. Mix until blended and fragrant.
  • Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice, making sure edges are covered.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Place two bread slices butter side down into the skillet.
  • Add approximately 1.5 cups of cheese on top of each slice, then place the other two slices on top, butter side up.
  • Cook sandwiches until bottom is golden brown and cheese starts to melt, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Gently flip each sandwich and cook another 3-4 minutes until both sides are golden and cheese is melted.
  • Remove from skillet, let rest 1 minute. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

You can use pre-shredded cheese or jarred garlic to save time. For extra crisp, lightly toast bread before assembling sandwiches.
