Equipment

  • 1 large skillet or frying pan
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 spatula or wooden spoon
  • 1 measuring spoons
  • 1 tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 pound baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped or 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika optional
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • Start by boiling a pot of salted water. Add the potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, or until tender. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Add the steak bites to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using). Cook for about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the cooked potatoes. Cook for about 5 minutes until they are golden and crispy on the outside. Stir occasionally.
  • Add the steak bites back into the skillet with the potatoes.
  • Lower the heat and add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir until the butter melts and coats the steak and potatoes, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the chopped parsley on top and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the steak bites in a mixture of olive oil, garlic, and herbs for 30 minutes before cooking.
Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition and color.
Ensure the steak is not overcrowded in the pan to get a good sear.
