Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 pot for boiling pasta
  • 1 colander
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 tongs or spatula
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine or penne)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Begin by boiling water in a pot. Once boiling, add a pinch of salt and the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta in a colander and set it aside.
  • While the pasta is cooking, season the steak bites with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter. Add the seasoned steak bites in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
  • Once the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes so it thickens slightly.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and creates a creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper if needed.
  • Add the drained pasta to the creamy sauce and toss to coat. Finally, add the steak bites back into the skillet and combine everything gently.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a healthier option, you can substitute whole wheat pasta or add vegetables like spinach or peas for added nutrition.
Make sure not to overcook the steak, as it can become tough. Adjust cooking time based on the size of the steak pieces.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.
