Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets About 360g.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce Optional.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • cooked rice or noodles For serving.

Instructions
 

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
  • Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and minced ginger to the skillet. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  • Add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the broccoli is bright green and slightly tender.
  • Pour in the soy sauce and the oyster sauce (if using). Stir well to coat all the ingredients in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil. Mix well.
  • Serve immediately over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
Add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for added color and nutrition.
This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
