Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • ¼ cup green onions, chopped for garnish
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced sausage and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and heated through, stirring occasionally.
  • While the sausage cooks, prepare the honey garlic sauce by mixing together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl.
  • Once the sausage is browned, push it to one side of the skillet. Add the shrimp to the other side and season with salt and pepper. Cook the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet, mixing everything together, and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve immediately over rice or with crusty bread.
  • For additional flavor, consider pairing the dish with steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
