How to Make Easy Homemade Buttery Soft Pretzels and Pretzel Bites
These buttery soft pretzels and pretzel bites are easy to make at home with just a few ingredients and a pressure cooker assist. Perfectly golden, chewy, and finished with melted butter and coarse salt.

Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Stir in the melted unsalted butter, sugar, and salt until combined.
Gradually add flour, mixing into a dough. Adjust with more flour if dough is sticky.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Boil 2 cups water with 2 tablespoon baking soda to make the soda bath, reduce to simmer.
Punch down the dough and cut into pretzel shapes or bites.
Dip each pretzel piece quickly in the soda bath and place on baking sheet.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from oven, brush immediately with melted salted butter.
Sprinkle coarse salt over warm pretzels and serve immediately.
Notes
Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 2 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in oven or microwave for best texture.
