Begin by pressing the tofu to remove excess water. Wrap the tofu block in paper towels and place a weight on top for about 15 minutes. Afterward, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
In a large bowl, toss the tofu cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes on each side. Remove the tofu from the pan and place it on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
In a pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, usually until they float. Drain and set aside.
In the same skillet used for the tofu, combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Cook for 2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet, tossing it with the sauce until well coated. Gently fold in the crispy tofu.
Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
