Equipment

  • 1 oven
  • 1 baking sheet or pizza stone
  • 1 skillet
  • 1 mixing spoon
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cutting board
  • 1 aluminum foil (optional)

Ingredients

  • 1 12-inch pre-made pizza crust
  • 1 cup refried beans
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced black olives
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • ¼ cup sour cream for serving
  • diced jalapeños optional garnish
  • chopped cilantro optional garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning with the cooked beef. Follow the package instructions for any additional water requirement and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  • On the pizza crust, spread the refried beans evenly as the base. Layer the seasoned ground beef on top.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the beef.
  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
  • Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Top with diced tomatoes, sliced olives, and chopped green onions.
  • Serve slices hot with a dollop of sour cream and optional garnishes like jalapeños and cilantro if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with sautéed bell peppers, corn, or any vegetables of your choice.
You can also use store-bought taco sauce to enhance the flavor further, spreading it over the refried beans before adding the meat.
