Equipment

  • 1 9-inch pie dish
  • 1 mixing bowls
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 spatula
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 oven

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional) For extra sweetness.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, use a whisk to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Reserve about 1 cup of the cookie dough. Spread the remaining cookie dough evenly in the bottom of the prepared pie dish, pressing it slightly to create an even layer.
  • Spoon the Nutella over the cookie dough layer and spread it evenly.
  • Take the reserved cookie dough and crumble it on top of the Nutella layer, covering it as evenly as possible.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center looks set.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pie dish for at least 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
