Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 casserole dish (9x13 inches)
  • 1 spoon for stirring
  • 1 oven mitts

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
  • 1 can (8 count) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and green bell pepper, sautéing until they are tender (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuits.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
