1 mixing bowl
1 baking sheet
1 parchment paper
1 brush
1 oven
- 1 French baguette sourdough bread (about 12 inches) sourdough bread
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper optional
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Cut the sourdough baguette in half lengthwise. If desired, you can also slice it into smaller pieces for individual servings.
Use a brush to evenly spread the garlic butter mixture on the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to cover each half generously.
If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the buttered sides.
Place the prepared bread cut side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy on the edges.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before slicing further if necessary.
Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
For a kick of heat, consider adding some chili flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
This garlic bread pairs wonderfully with pasta dishes, soups, or salads.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day or two. Reheat in the oven for best results.
