Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until well blended.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the jello. In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry jello in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add 1 cup of cold water and mix well.
Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes. Using a toothpick or skewer, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
Pour the cooled jello mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
In a separate bowl, mix the crushed cereal with whipped topping until well combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the cooled cake.
Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired. Slice and serve chilled.
