Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 salad serving bowl
  • 1 whisk or fork
  • 1 measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 knife
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 8 cups fresh spinach leaves Approximately 8 ounces.
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced Approximately 10 ounces.
  • ½ cup sliced almonds
  • ¼ cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • ¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • cup balsamic vinaigrette dressing
  • to taste none salt
  • to taste none pepper

Instructions

  • Begin by rinsing the fresh spinach leaves under cold water and then pat them dry. Place the spinach in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the sliced strawberries, sliced almonds, crumbled feta cheese, and thinly sliced red onion on top of the spinach in the mixing bowl.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinaigrette dressing, adding salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as preferred.
  • Drizzle the dressing over the salad mixture. Use tongs or salad servers to gently toss the salad until all ingredients are well-coated with the dressing.
  • Transfer the salad to a serving bowl or plate, and enjoy immediately.

Notes

You can customize this salad by adding grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein, or by including other berries for additional flavor.
Make sure to serve the salad immediately after dressing to keep the spinach crisp and fresh—a tip especially important in warm weather.
If making ahead of time, store the dressing separately and add it just before serving to prevent wilting.
