Sweet and Savory Apple-Cinnamon Breakfast Quesadillas
These apple-cinnamon breakfast quesadillas are the perfect combination of sweet and savory, with tender apples, maple syrup, warm spices, and melty cheddar, all wrapped in a crispy tortilla.
In a bowl, toss your thin apple slices with cinnamon and maple syrup. Mix it pretty good so every slice gets some love.
Heat a skillet on medium and drop in your butter. Let it melt, turning all silky and golden.
Lay one tortilla flat in the skillet. Sprinkle half the cheese over half of that tortilla, then spread the apple mix on top. Finish with the rest of your cheese on the apples.
Fold your tortilla over like a crescent moon, pressing it so the cheese and apples stay together.
Cook each side around 2 to 3 minutes, till golden brown and the cheese inside melts real good.
Take it off the skillet and slice into wedges. Serve it warm so you catch all that melty goodness right at first bite.
Notes
You can prep apples ahead and store in fridge overnight. For savory variation skip maple syrup and increase cinnamon. Add vanilla or nutmeg for extra warmth.
