Instructions
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350ºF and prepare cake pans by greasing and lining with parchment.
Mix all dry ingredients in a stand mixer bowl on low for 30 seconds.
Add oil, eggs, vanilla, buttermilk and mix on low until just combined. Slowly add hot water and beat until smooth.
Pour batter evenly into pans no more than ⅔ full and bake for 32–36 minutes. Cool completely.
Make peanut caramel by heating all caramel ingredients until thickened, then stir in vanilla and chopped peanuts. Cool completely.
Make nougat by whipping together butter, sugar, cocoa, marshmallow creme, peanut butter, and vanilla until fluffy.
Make buttercream by creaming butter, then adding sugar, cocoa, milk, salt, and vanilla gradually. Whip until smooth.
Assemble layers with frosting dam, add nougat in center, followed by peanut caramel. Repeat for next layers.
Chill lightly to set before applying final frosting layer. Decorate as desired with Snickers and peanuts.
Store leftovers in airtight container in fridge or freeze in slices.
Notes
DIY Buttermilk: 1 tablespoon white vinegar + 1 Cup milk. Let sit 15 mins before use. You can refrigerate or freeze the layers/fillings as needed.
