Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl Large

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 150 g Unsalted butter roughly diced
  • 16 Garlic cloves peeled
  • 1 cup Parsley leaves plus extra to garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon Salt flakes plus extra for sprinkling
  • 1 tablespoon Freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 loaf Ciabatta halved crossways
  • 125 g Grated raclette cheese or gruyere or cheddar
  • 1.5 cups Vegetable stock
  • 1 Egg lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoon White sesame seeds

Instructions

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). This prep gives you that perfect baking heat to crisp up the bread and melt the cheese nicely.
  • Grab a blender or food processor and toss in the diced butter, peeled garlic, parsley leaves, olive oil, salt flakes, and cracked black pepper. Blend it til smooth, making a rich garlic herb butter that’s spread-worthy everywhere.
  • Place your ciabatta halves on a baking tray cut side up. Slather that garlic butter all over the bread generously. Don't hold back cause this is where the flavor party starts.
  • Next sprinkle the grated raclette (or your cheese choice) evenly over the buttered bread. Make sure you cover every inch with that cheesy goodness.
  • Drizzle a bit more olive oil on top and maybe a pinch more salt flakes if you're feeling wild. Then carefully mix the vegetable stock with the beaten egg. Slowly pour this mix around the edges of the bread but don't go pouring directly on the cheesy bread top.
  • Pop it into the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Watch for the cheese to turn golden and start bubbling while the bread crisps up underneath. When it looks right, pull it out, scatter some extra parsley, slice it up, and serve warm.

Notes

Try adding anchovies, olives, or chili for extra flavor punch. Swap veggie stock with chicken pan juices for a meaty twist. Great warm or cold — save any leftovers in fridge or freezer.
