Equipment

  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 whisk
  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cauliflower head About 1 pound.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup plant-based milk Unsweetened.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Panko recommended for extra crunch.
  • ¼ cup vegan mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha Adjust for spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower and cut it into bite-sized florets.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, plant-based milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth.
  • In another bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  • Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then coat it with the breadcrumbs. Place on the lined baking sheet. Repeat until all florets are coated.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden and crispy.
  • While the cauliflower wings are baking, prepare the bang bang sauce by mixing the vegan mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and lime juice in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir well until warmed through.
  • Once the cauliflower wings are done, remove them from the oven and toss them in the bang bang sauce until well coated.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with additional sauce or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For an extra crunch, you can double coat the cauliflower by dipping them in the batter and breadcrumbs twice.
You can adjust the spice level of the bang bang sauce according to your taste preferences by adding more or less Sriracha.
