How to Make Mango Sweet (or Unsweet) Tea

A refreshing and tropical blend of mango and tea, perfect served sweet or unsweet for a summertime treat.

  • 4 black tea bags
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen mango chunks
  • ½ cup sugar optional, adjust to taste
  • 6 cups water divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • ice cubes for serving
  • mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Boil 3 cups of water in a saucepan.
  • Remove from heat and steep the tea bags in the hot water for 5-7 minutes.
  • Discard tea bags and let the brewed tea cool.
  • In a blender, combine mango chunks with 1 cup of water and blend until smooth.
  • Optional: strain the mango puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove fibrous pulp.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the tea, mango puree, remaining water, sugar (if using), and lemon juice.
  • Stir well until sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves.

Notes

Adjust sugar according to your sweetness preference. For unsweetened tea, omit the sugar entirely.
